Around Christmas time last year, I discovered this beautiful A5 sized book, thick creamy pages and vibrant, simple cover design. What was most exciting about this book (or books, I should say, as I had been given two!) was the short prose that filled those pages. Within Flash – The International Short-Short Story Magazine (hereafter referred to as Flash) I found Margaret Atwood (Murder in the Dark), Beryl Bainbridge, Dave Eggers, Bernard MacLaverty, William Wall and many, many other new and acclaimed writers. As you can imagine, it was quite a treasure to find.
In that vein, I am rather pleased to have one of my short fictions – Snow – published in the latest Flash publication. Flash Volume 5, Number 1 (April 2012) has recently come out and is now available for purchase. I love receiving a copy of books or magazines that my work has been published in, partly, because receiving mail is kind of like Christmas and partly because there’s that little thrill at seeing your words on a page and in a collection beside so many other incredibly talented writers. I feel very honoured to be featured in Flash.
